Financial Roadmap for April 23 to 27, 2007

After last months mixed signals in housing, housing market watchers have been waiting impatiently for this week's reports on March new and existing home sales. Concerned with the housing market ‫ you'll also want to watch the consumer confidence index released Tuesday, as housing is driven heavily by consumer expectations.

Fed watchers will get the biggest data dump of the week in the Beige Book released Wednesday, but will also do well to pay attention to Friday's release of the first quarter employment cost index, which the Fed itself will be watching closely for signs of wage inflation.
