Financial Roadmap April 30 to May 4, 2007
This week will be a busy one for labor market statistics with online employment ad indexes from Monster and the Conference Board, the Challenger Job Cut Report, the ADP Employment Report and the April Employment Situation Report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The news for the week doesn't stop there, as we'll get real estate indicators in reports on construction spending and pending home sales. With Toyota surpassing GM in worldwide auto sales in the first quarter, for the first time in history, April auto sales will get close scrutiny on Tuesday. And, with gas prices still a great concern to US consumers and every business that depends on them, the oil inventory report on Wednesday will be as important as ever and as important as any other single number we get this week.
Wednesday will also be an important day for the bond markets as the Treasury Department announces upcoming auctions for 10-year Notes and 30-year Bonds.
